Sarala Birla University
Sarala Birla University (SBU) is a Private university (India), private university located in the Birla Knowledge City in the Ara, about from Ranchi on the Ranchi-Purulia highway, in the Namkum block of Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. The university was established by Bharat Arogya and Gyan Mandir through the ''Sarla Birla University Act, 2017'' which was passed by the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on 3 February 2017 following a letter of intent in November 2016. Ranchi district is the most populous district of Jharkhand state in eastern India. Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, is the district headquarters. It was established as a district in 1899. Sarala Birla (23 November, 1923 – 28 March, 2015) was an Indian Businesswoman prominent member of the Birla family of Indian industrialists. She took interest in public education and, along with her husband, is credited with having co-founded about 45 educational institutions supported by her family's conglomerate. Biography Sarala Birla was born into a traditional Marwadi Hindu family, the daughter of Gandhian educationist and freedom fighter Brijlal Biyani and his wife Savitri Devi Biyani. Ara Gate is a census town in the Namkum CD block in the Ranchi Sadar subdivision of the Ranchi district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Geography Location Ara is located at .
