Sarah Vasey
Sarah Vasey (born 29 August 1996) is a former British swimmer. She competed in the women's 50 metre and 100 metre breaststroke events at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. Vasey qualified for the 50 metre breaststroke final at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast, Australia and went on to win gold. Vasey was included in April 2021 as a member of the "high quality" British team to go to the postponed 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. She joined an "exceptionally high quality" swimming team which included Jacob Whittle, Abbie Wood and Molly Renshaw Molly Renshaw (born 6 May 1996) is an English breaststroke swimmer. In 2016, she won the 200 metres breaststroke at the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships (25m). 2018 Commonwealth Games
The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and also known as Gold Coast 2018, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that were held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, between 4 and 15 April 2018. It was the fifth time Australia had hosted the Commonwealth Games and the first time a major multi-sport had an equal number of events for male and female athletes. 4,426 athletes including 300 para-athletes from 71 Commonwealth Games Associations took part in the event. The Gambia, which withdrew its membership from the Commonwealth of Nations and Commonwealth Games Federation in 2013, was readmitted on 31 March 2018 and participated in the event. With 275 sets of medals, the games featured 18 Commonwealth sports, including beach volleyball, para triathlon and women's rugby sevens.
