Sarah Thomson (actress)
Sarah Thomson (born 17 June 1985) is a New Zealand actress, known for playing roles in two series of the ''Power Rangers'' franchise, and for her role in New Zealand's longest running soap opera, ''Shortland Street''. Career After high school at Glendowie College in Auckland, Thomson moved to Christchurch to film the first sections of the troubled American feature called '' Meet Me in Miami'' (then titled ''My Gardener''). Thomson was discouraged from acting by her experiences and returned to her hometown of Auckland to focus on friends and family. Drawn back to stage, she ended up performing outdoor Shakespeare, as part of the University of Auckland's long-running ''Summer Shakespeare'' tradition. She was not a student at this time, but later enrolled to study Film, Television, Media Studies and Theatre Studies. Oliver Driver (born 22 November 1974) is a New Zealand actor, director, broadcaster and television presenter. Television Driver was the host of ''Let's Be Frank'', and the Creative Director of New Zealand's only alternative music television station, ALT TV, The channel is now no longer on air. He co-hosted TV3's early morning news show ''Sunrise'', which was cancelled on 8 April 2010. Driver played Mike Galloway, a pot smoking nurse on the long-running New Zealand drama ''Shortland Street'' as well as starring in a comedy called ''Serial Killers'', which was based on the lives of six storyliners working on a Shortland Street style hospital based soap. __NOTOC__ ALT TV was a New Zealand broadcast, privately owned and operated 24-hour live-to-air music TV, which aired from 2006 to 2009 and was seen on SKY Digital channel 065. In March 2009, the company was placed into liquidation and the channel went off-air. ALT TV's most recent slogan was 'Know Good Television.' Their previous slogan was 'Actual Music Television.' Created by Thane Kirby (founder of George FM) and Ricky Newby (creator of music festival Deep Hard 'n Funky), it was launched in Auckland on UHF channel 62 on 14 November 2005. The television station also started screening on SKY Digital Channel 36 on Friday, 1 December 2006, later moving to SKY Digital Channel 65 on 1 March 2007. By early 2009 it was under new management. NZ On Air (NZOA; mi, Irirangi te Motu), formally the Broadcasting Commission, is an autonomous Crown entity and commission of the New Zealand Government responsible for funding support for broadcasting and creative works.
