Sarah Lynn Rees is a Palawa woman descending from the Plangermaireener and Trawlwoolway people of North East Tasmania, Based in Birrarung-ga (Melbourne), Rees is an architectural practitioner, academic and writer. She is a prominent advocate and advisor with a firm commitment to Indigenising the built environment. Education Rees began her architectural studies at the Melbourne School of Design at the University of Melbourne. She was the recipient of the Dean's Honour Award for three years in a row and graduated with First Class Honours. Rees then undertook a MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Cambridge, as a Charlie Perkins scholar. Her thesis was on Indigenous housing in remote Australian communities. Northeastern Tasmanian, or Pyemmairre, is an aboriginal language of Tasmania. Elisapeta Hinemoa Heta is a New Zealand Māori architect. She is affiliated to the Ngāti Wai and Waikato Tainui iwi (tribes). She also has Samoan and Tokelauan heritage. Heta was the recipient of a National Association of Women in Construction (New Zealand) Excellence Award in 2018. Biography Heta grew up in a small cottage in Rānui, West Auckland, and later in Te Atatu North, which became Te Atatu Peninsula. Paul Christopher Memmott is an Australian architect, anthropologist, academic and the Director of the Aboriginal Environments Research Centre at the University of Queensland. He is an expert on topics related to Indigenous architecture and vernacular architecture, housing, homelessness and overcrowding. Early life Paul Memmott was born to married couple Estelle "Cootch" Powell and Harry Memmott who were both pottery artists. He took art classes from Mervin Moriarty before enrolling at the University of Queensland.
