Sarah Anne Pascale Hulton is a British diplomat who is the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. She officially became the British High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in August 2019 who replaced James Dauris who previously served in the office since 2015. The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of, the order. James Edward Dauris (born 1966) is a British diplomat who previously served as the ambassador of the United Kingdom to Peru and as the High Commissioner of the UK to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Career Dauris was schooled at Haileybury. He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Law After university he trained to be a Solicitor and worked for Ashurst Morris Crisp from 1991. Dauris changed careers and joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1995. For his first overseas posting he was First Secretary (Commercial) at the British Embassy in Moscow.
