Sarah Huffman
Sarah Eileen Huffman (born March 5, 1984) is an American former professional women's association football, soccer player who last played for Portland Thorns FC of the National Women's Soccer League, NWSL. Early life Huffman was born in Danbury, Connecticut. She grew up in Flower Mound, Texas and attended Marcus High School. University of Virginia Huffman attended the University of Virginia. A four-year starter, she is one of the top players in the school's history. She was a two-time NSCAA All-American, a two-time Soccer America MVP, and a three-time first team All-ACC selection. In 2004, she was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and was also Co-MVP of the ACC Tournament as the Cavaliers won the first conference championship in school history. The 2002 FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship was held from 17 August to 1 September. It was the first sanctioned youth tournament for women put together by FIFA. The tournament was hosted by Canada. Verónica Boquete Giadans (born 9 April 1987) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward or midfielder for Italian Serie A club Fiorentina. Jaelene McKenzie Daniels (; born May 28, 1993) is an American professional soccer defender. Early life Daniels attended Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado (a suburb of Denver) where she played soccer and basketball. Courtney Rashelle Wetzel (born February 25, 1989) is an American soccer midfielder. She played for the Western New York Flash and Portland Thorns FC of the NWSL, and the Ottawa Fury Women and Seattle Sounders Women in the W-League. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) was the top-level professional women's soccer league in the United States. It began play on March 29, 2009. The league was composed of seven teams for its first two seasons and fielded six teams for the 2011 season, with continued plans for future expansion. The WPS was the highest level in the United States soccer pyramid for the women's game. On January 30, 2012, the league announced suspension of the 2012 season, citing several internal organization struggles as the primary cause. It was the first general draft held by Women's Professional Soccer to assign the WPS rights of international and domestic players to the American-based teams.
