Sarah Hendrickson
Sarah Catherine Hendrickson (born August 1, 1994) is an American retired ski jumper. She won the inaugural women's World Cup season in 2012, finished runner-up in 2013, and won an individual gold medal at the 2013 World Championships. Career Hendrickson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Park City High School until 2011, when she began competing in the Ski Jumping World Cup. During this she moved to The Winter Sports School in Park City, where she graduated in November 2012. In the first ever women's World Cup season in 2011/12, Hendrickson dominated by winning nine competitions; her first being on December 3, 2011 in Lillehammer. The 2012/13 season saw her win four World Cup competitions while finishing runner-up to nearest rival Sara Takanashi. Hendrickson was also able to win the women's event at the 2013 Ski Jumping World Championships in Val di Fiemme. Lysgårdsbakken, officially known as Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Arena ( no, Lysgårdsbakkene hoppanlegg), is a ski jumping hill in Lillehammer, Norway. It consists of a large hill, with a K-point of 123 and a hill size of 138, and a small hill with a K-point of 90 and a hill size of 100. The 2013–14 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 35th World Cup season in ski jumping for men, the 17th official World Cup season in ski flying and the 3rd World Cup season for ladies. It began on 23 November 2013 in Klingenthal, Germany and ended on 23 March 2014 in Planica, Slovenia. A break took place during the season to accommodate the ski jumping event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. From 13 to 16 March 2014, FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2014 took place in Harrachov, Czech Republic. The defending champions from the previous season were Gregor Schlierenzauer from Austria, who was also the defending ski flying champion, and Sara Takanashi from Japan. Nansen Ski Jump, also known as The Big Nansen and The Sleeping Giant, is a ski jump located along Route 16 in Milan, New Hampshire. Built in 1936, it was the largest ski jump of its time. It is now within the Nansen Ski Jump State Historic Site, a New Hampshire state park, which also features a picnic area and boat launch on the Androscoggin River. The 2015–16 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 37th World Cup season in ski jumping for men, the 19th official World Cup season in ski flying and the 5th World Cup season for ladies. It began on 21 November 2015 in Klingenthal, Germany and concluded on 20 March 2016 in Planica, Slovenia. For men, the title holders from the previous season were Severin Freund in overall, Peter Prevc in ski flying, and Germany in the nations cup. For ladies, Daniela Iraschko-Stolz was defending the overall title and Austria the nations cup. Almaty and the country of Kazakhstan hosted ski jumping World Cup events for the first time in history. Several events had to be cancelled or rescheduled to other venues due to weather conditions.
