Sarah Choo Jing
Sarah Choo Jing (Chinese: 朱婧; ''pinyin'': Zhū Jìng; born 1990) is a Singaporean multidisciplinary fine artist who works with photography, video and installation. Her works often feature isolated moments in contemporary life and explores the flâneur's observations, voyeurism and the uncanny. Background and Family Choo was born in Singapore, the older of two children. Her father works in the freight industry and her mother is an administrative manager. She has one younger brother, Mathias, who is pursuing film-making at Nanyang Technological University. During her second year in Nanyang Junior College, Choo was offered a full scholarship to read art at Goldsmiths, University of London. However, she had to turn down the offer due to her parents’ disapproval. Kampong Glam
Kampong Glam (Malay: Kampung Gelam; Jawi: کامڤوڠ ڬلم ; ; Tamil: கம்போங் கிளாம்) is a neighbourhood and ethnic enclave in Singapore. It is located north of the Singapore River, in the planning area of Rochor, known as the Malay-Muslim quarter. Prior to colonisation by the British in 1819, the area was home to the Malay aristocracy of Singapore. Berlin International Film Festival
The Berlin International Film Festival (german: Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin), usually called the Berlinale (), is a major international film festival held annually in Berlin, Germany. Founded in 1951 and originally run in June, the festival has been held every February since 1978 and is one of the " Big Three" alongside the Venice Film Festival in Italy and the Cannes Film Festival in France. Somerset House
Somerset House is a large Neoclassical complex situated on the south side of the Strand in central London, overlooking the River Thames, just east of Waterloo Bridge. The Georgian era quadrangle was built on the site of a Tudor palace ("Old Somerset House") originally belonging to the Duke of Somerset. Palazzo Bembo is a palace in Venice, Italy, on the Grand Canal, close by the Rialto Bridge and next to the Palazzo Dolfin Manin. History It was built by the noble family of Bembo in the 15th century.
