Léonce Perret
Léonce Joseph Perret (14 March 1880 – 12 August 1935) was a prolific and innovative French film actor, director and producer.The Museum of Modern Art(retrieved 7 June 2007) He also worked as a stage actor and director. Often described as avant-garde for his unorthodox directing methods, Léonce Perret introduced innovative camera, lighting and film scoring techniques to French cinema. Léonce Perret began his career as a relatively undistinguished stage actor. He was recruited to the film industry by the Gaumont Film Company. His numerous short films gained significant accolade in French cinematography. Until his emigration to the United States in 1917, he was a fixture of the Gaumont Film Company. On American soil, he produced several popular films, the most notable being ''Lest We Forget'' (''N'oublions jamais'') in 1918. André Perchicot (August 9, 1888 – May 3, 1950) was a French cyclist who won the bronze medal at the 1912 UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Men's Sprint in Newark, New Jersey and the 1912 French National Track Championships. Biography He was born on August 9, 1888. In 1912 in Newark, New Jersey the gold medal was won by Frank Louis Kramer. Alfred Grenda of Austria, won the silver medal. He served in World War I World War I (28 July 1914 11 November 1918), often abbreviated as WWI, was one of the deadliest global conflicts in history. Marcel Carpentier
Marcel Maurice Carpentier (2 March 1895 – 14 September 1977) was a French Army general who served in World War I, World War II and First Indochina War. Early life Born on 2 March 1895 in Marseille, he was the eldest son in his family. At 18 he entered the French military academy of Saint-Cyr, in August 1914 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant, less than a year later he was the youngest captain in the French Army at only 20, he started training to become a pilot. During the First World War he was wounded multiple times. Military career In 1937 he was (chief of staff) of the of Levantine Troops. From 1940-1941 he served under Jean de Lattre de Tassigny as chief of staff of the commander in chief of North Africa at the headquarters of Vichy French forces in Tunisia.
