Santosh Rana (CPI)
Santosh Rana is an Indian politician, belonging to the Communist Party of India. He studied at Bhattar College at Danton, graduating with a B.A. in 1969. He contested the Tamluk seat in the 2001 West Bengal legislative assembly election, and finished in second place with 44.45% of the votes. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. From each constituency, the people elect one representative who then becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). Each state has between seven and nine MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's bicameral parliament.
