Santo Domingo, officially the Municipality of Santo Domingo ( ilo, Ili ti Santo Domingo; tl, Bayan ng Santo Domingo), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 61,092 people. As an agricultural town, Santo Domingo is famous for its scenic agricultural landscape amid its Philippine duck raising industry. In Barangay Baloc along the Maharlika Highway is the Mariano Noriel landmark park and plaza. It is bordered by the municipalities of Talavera to the east, Quezon to the west, Science City of Muñoz to the north, Guimba to the northwest, and Aliaga to the south. Talavera, officially the Municipality of Talavera ( ilo, Ili ti Talavera; tgl, Bayan ng Talavera), is a 1st class municipality of the Philippines, municipality in the Philippine Province, province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Mariano Noriel
Mariano Noriel (c. 1864 - January 27, 1915) was a Filipino general who fought during the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine–American War. He was member of the War Council that handled the case of Andres Bonifacio in 1897. He led Filipino advance troops before the American army landed in Intramuros in 1898. Early life and career A native of Bacoor, Cavite, General Mariano Noriel was born in 1864. There is no available information about the exact date and place of his birth, nor about his parents, education, and other personal data. Noriel was the president of the Council of War that tried the Bonifacio brothers ( Andres and Procopio) in Naik and later in Maragondon in May 1897. Convicted of sedition and treason, Andres and Procopio were sentenced to death but Gen.
