Santiago Escobar
Santiago Escobar Saldarriaga (born 13 January 1964) is a Colombian football manager and former player who played as a defensive midfielder. He is the current manager of Ecuadorian club Aucas. Club career Born in Medellín, Escobar played football for Atlético Nacional, Deportivo Pereira, América de Cali, Sporting de Barranquilla, Junior de Barranquilla, Millonarios and Deportes Quindío. He also appeared for the Olympic team. Coaching career Following his retirement from football, he became a football manager; he is known for leading Atlético Nacional to win the 2005 and 2011 Categoría Primera A. He also won the 2010 Copa Aerosur with Club Bolívar. Andrés Escobar
Andrés Escobar Saldarriaga (; 13 March 1967 – 2 July 1994) was a Colombian footballer who played as a defender. He played for Atlético Nacional, BSC Young Boys, and the Colombia national team. Nicknamed ''The Gentleman'', he was known for his clean style of play and calmness on the pitch. On 2 July 1994, Escobar was murdered in the aftermath of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, reportedly as retaliation for having scored an own goal which contributed to the team's elimination from the tournament. His murder further tarnished the image of the country internationally. Ironically, Escobar himself had worked to promote a more positive image of Colombia, earning acclaim in the country. Copa Aerosur
The Aerosur Cup was a Bolivian football tournament held in the La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, sponsored by Aerosur airline. The original idea was to make AeroSur Cup a tournament for the winning teams from previous seasons in the whole country of (Bolivia), this idea changed. The Colombia national under-23 football team represents Colombia at the Summer Olympic Games and in international under-23 football competitions and is overseen by the Colombian Football Federation.
