Liguilla De Ascenso A Segunda División (Perú)
The Liguilla de Ascenso a Segunda División, was a championship of yesteryear that existed in Perú where the champion was promoted to play in the Segunda División the following year (except in its last edition that was promoted to the Primera División). It began to be played in 1954 with the champions of the Ligas Provinciales de Lima y Callao. In the following years, the champion of the Liga de los Balnearios del Sur, the Liga Distrital de San Isidro and, in its latest editions, other districts of Lima joined. It was played until 1973 and after the inclusion of the teams from the province of Lima in the Copa Perú it was replaced by Liga Provincial de Lima (Interligas de Lima). The Peruvian football league system is a complex system. Though the general outline includes the Liga 1, Liga 2 and Copa Perú. The Copa Perú is very large involving several stages and leagues within it. In addition, the Copa Perú is played within a year. Therefore, clubs who reach level 3 of the pyramid (National stage of the Copa Perú) will have climbed 4 levels in a one-year period. Peruvian División Intermedia (1926–1940)
The División Intermedia, the second division of Peruvian football (soccer) in 1926 until 1934, and the third division of Peruvian football (soccer) in 1935 until 1940. The tournament was played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. On August 23, 1922, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) was founded and since 1926 tournaments began to be played under its organization. As the second category in the tournament system, the División Intermedia was found, which granted promotions to the champion ( and sometimes to the runner-up) to the Peruvian Primera División. Only the 1928 and 1931 editions did not give direct promotion but rather the classification to a promotion league. Copa Perú
The Copa Perú is a football tournament in Peru. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. It guarantees its winner promotion to the professional Liga 2. History In 1966, the First Division was named '' Descentralizado''; teams from outside the capital of Lima were allowed to participate in the professional first division. The following year, the Copa Perú began, in which all non-professional teams in Peru were allowed to compete, with the winner to gain promotion to the First Division. After playing many elimination rounds, once six teams were left in the competition, they played in a final round-robin tournament in Lima.
