Santhana Bharathi is an Indian film director and actor who has primarily worked in Tamil cinema. Career Santhana Bharathi originally wanted to be a director but didn't get the right opportunity, even after working for a well known director like C. V. Sridhar. At the time, he had been looking for offers with his friend P. Vasu. Finally, they got a movie called ''Panneer Pushpangal'' in the year 1981. It was a success. Santhana Bharathi, along with his friend Vasu started directing many other movies under the name “Bharathi Vasu”. Santhana Bharathi started directing films of his own, after doing five films together with his friend Vasu, who also went on to become a popular director on his own. Santhana Bharathi's films such as '' Guna'', '' Chinna Mapillai'', '' Mahanadhi'' gained high appreciation. He often hired his friends Kamal Haasan and Crazy Mohan in his works.
