Sante Gaiardoni
Sante Gaiardoni (born 29 June 1939) is a retired Italian cyclist. He won two gold medals at the Cycling at the 1960 Summer Olympics, 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, in the Cycling at the 1960 Summer Olympics – Men's 1000m time trial, 1000 m time trial and the Cycling at the 1960 Summer Olympics – Men's sprint, 1000 m sprint. Between 1958 and 1970 he won two gold, four silver and two bronze medals in sprint events at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Biography After retirement in 1971 he ran a bicycle shop in Lorenteggio, Milan. In the 2000s he was active in politics and took part in the Italian local elections, 2006, 2006 Italian municipal elections. In 2010, together with journalist Francesco Lodi, he published a book ''Quando la Rabbia si trasforma in Vittoria'' ("When the anger turns into victory") describing his early life until 1960. Villafranca Di Verona
Villafranca di Verona is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Verona in the Veneto, Northern Italy. History The position on the ancient via Postumia and the perpendicular intersection structure of its roads suggests that the city had Roman origins. In the Middle Ages, in occasion of the foundation of the Rectors' Council of Verona, on March 9, 1185, it received the privilege of a tax free town, from which derived the name of ''villa franca''. It was the site of the signature of the Treaty of Villafranca, between Napoleon III and the Austrian army, which concluded the Second Italian Independence War. Foro Italico is a sports complex in Rome, Italy, on the slopes of Monte Mario. It was built between 1928 and 1938 as the Foro Mussolini (literally Mussolini's Forum) under the design of Enrico Del Debbio and, later, Luigi Moretti.
