Santarcangelo Calcio is an Italian association football club, based in Santarcangelo di Romagna, Emilia-Romagna. The club didn't sign up for the Eccellenza in 2019 and so dissolved. History The club was founded as ''A.S.D. Santarcangelo'' as a sports association in 1926. It is the most supported club within the Santarcangelo di Romagna area. SquadraMia takeover and Lega Pro promotions After a thorough analysis by the founders of ''SquadraMia'' (a non-profit web-venture that aimed to purchase and manage an Italian football team whereby the venture's members vote on matters normally reserved for traditional club management, akin to Ebbsfleet United F.C. in England), between various clubs who were part of a final evaluation stage. 2011–12 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione
The 2011–12 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione season was the thirty-fourth football league season of Italian Lega Pro Seconda Divisione since its establishment in 1978, and the fourth since the renaming from Serie C to Lega Pro. It was divided into two phases: the regular season, and the playoff phase. Historically, the league was composed of 54 teams divided into three divisions of 18 teams each. This year, due to a significant reduction in qualified teams, it was decided that the league would be composed of 40 teams divided into two divisions (''gironi'') divided geographically. Valentino Mazzola
Valentino Mazzola (; 26 January 1919 – 4 May 1949) was an Italian footballer who played as an attacking midfielder or forward. Considered one of the great number 10s in the history of football and, according to some, the best Italian footballer of all time, Mazzola was the captain and symbol of the " Grande Torino", the team recognised as one of the strongest in the world during the second half of the 1940s, with whom Mazzola won five Serie A championships. He was also captain of the Italian national team for two years. He became known during his spell at Venezia, where he played as a midfielder, a playing position he held throughout his career that allowed him to expand his fame beyond Italy. In his later seasons, he was considered one of the best players in Europe in his role. He died at the age of 30 in the Superga air disaster. The 2014–15 Lega Pro was the first season of the unified Lega Pro division in place of the old Prima Divisione and Seconda Divisione. The 2013–14 Seconda Divisione season is the thirty-sixth and final football league season of Italian Seconda Divisione since its establishment in 1978, and the sixth since the renaming from Serie C to Lega Pro. It is divided into two phases: the regular season, and the playoff phase. The league currently is composed of 36 teams divided into two divisions (''Girone A'' and ''B'') divided geographically. The first eight teams in each ''girone'', plus one team winning the relegation playoff round from each division will remain in Lega Pro. The last six teams in each ''girone'', plus three relegation play-out losers from each division will be relegated to Serie D. Lega Pro Seconda Divisione was the fourth highest football league in Italy, the lowest with a professional status. Usually it consisted of 36 teams, but in the 2011–12 season, there were 41 teams divided geographically into two divisions of 20 and 21. Group A covered northern and north-central Italy, Group B south-central and southern Italy. Until the 2007–08 season, the league was known as Serie C2. Before the 1978–79 season, there were only three professional football leagues in Italy, the third being Serie C.
