Santana's El Nino is a Tennessee Walking Horse who won the World Grand Championship in the 2008 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. He was trained by Link Webb. Life and career Santana's El Nino is a black stallion sired by the 1997 World Grand Champion Generator's Santana and out of the mare The Pusher's Lucky Lady. His paternal grandsire was Pride's Generator, his damsire was World Grand Champion The Pusher. He was foaled on May 1, 2001. He was bred and is owned by Michael and Ann Jones of Lafayette, Georgia and trained by Link Webb of Marshall County, Tennessee. Tennessee Walking Horse
The Tennessee Walking Horse or Tennessee Walker is a breed of gaited horse known for its unique four-beat running-walk and flashy movement. It was originally developed as a riding horse on farms and plantations in the American South. It is a popular riding horse due to its calm disposition, smooth gaits and sure-footedness. The Tennessee Walking Horse is often seen in the show ring, but is also popular as a pleasure and trail riding horse using both English and Western equipment. Tennessee Walkers are also seen in movies, television, and other entertainment. The breed was developed beginning in the late 18th century when Narragansett Pacers and Canadian Pacers from the eastern United States were crossed with gaited Spanish Mustangs from Texas. Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration
The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration (TWHNC), sometimes known as the Celebration, is the largest horse show for the Tennessee Walking Horse breed, and has been held annually in or near Shelbyville, Tennessee since its inception in 1939. The Celebration was conceived by Henry Davis, a horse trainer who along with several other horsemen, felt the Shelbyville area should have a festival or annual event. Although the Celebration was originally held in Wartrace, Tennessee, it moved to Shelbyville, the seat of Bedford County, a few years later. The Celebration spans 11 days and nights in late August and early September annually, and finishes with the crowning of the World Grand Champion Tennessee Walker on the Saturday night before Labor Day. Link Webb
Lincoln "Link" Webb (born 1974) is a Tennessee Walking Horse trainer. He and the black stallion Santana's El Nino won the breed's World Grand Championship in 2008. Life and career Webb was born Lincoln Eugene Webb in 1974, but nicknamed Link. He owns and operates Link Webb Stables in Marshall County, Tennessee, and was named Trainer of the Year by the Walking Horse Trainers' Association in 2005. Stallion
A stallion is a male horse that has not been gelded (castrated). Pride's Generator
Pride's Generator (1975–2001) was a Tennessee Walking Horse who won three World Championships before being retired to breeding. Standing at stud first at S. W. Beech Stables and later at Waterfall Farms, he sired over 2,000 foals, of which two became World Grand Champions and over 100 became World Champions. Life and show career Pride's Generator was foaled December 2, 1975. He was a chestnut stallion with a flaxen mane and tail. He was sired by Harlinsdale Farm's Pride of Midnight; his grandsire was the two-time World Grand Champion Midnight Sun and his great-grandsire was the foundation horse Wilson's Allen. Foal
A foal is an equine up to one year old; this term is used mainly for horses, but can be used for donkeys. More specific terms are colt for a male foal and filly for a female foal, and are used until the horse is three or four. Rowdy Rev is a Tennessee Walking Horse stallion who won the Reserve World Grand Championship in the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. Although he repeatedly competed in the World Grand Championship, he never won, despite wins in other large shows. Bill Bobo
William Earl Bobo is a Tennessee Walking Horse trainer. He won the World Grand Championship at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in 2003 with the stallion The Whole Nine Yards. Bobo also showed the notable horse Rowdy Rev, who competed in the World Grand Championship several times but never won. Bobo has been named Trainer of the Year by the Walking Horse Trainers Association. Life and career Bobo was born William Earl Bobo in 1947/1948.
