Santa Ynez Valley Union High School
Santa Ynez Valley Union High School (SYHS) is a public high school in Santa Ynez, California that serves students in grades 9–12 in the Santa Ynez Valley. As of the 2017–18 school year, 908 students were enrolled at the school. History Santa Ynez High School was founded in 1896 and was originally located on Pine Street in Santa Ynez, now the site of Santa Ynez Elementary School. The original high school burned down in 1908, and its current facilities were built in 1937. In 2005, the school was named a California Distinguished School. Academics SYHS offers Advanced Placement (AP) classes, with 41% of students participating. The school formerly participated in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, but withdrew from the program in 2009. Mark Andrews (filmmaker)
Mark Elliott Andrews (born September 12, 1968) is an American film director, screenwriter, animator, he is best known for the 2012 Pixar feature film '' Brave''. He was the story supervisor for ''The Incredibles'', directed the short film ''One Man Band'' and co-wrote the short films ''Jack-Jack Attack'' and ''One Man Band''. Andrews studied animation at the Character Animation Program at CalArts. After that he was one of five who got a Disney internship, but was fired after three months. He is also considered to be Brad Bird's "right-hand man". Some of his student films have been featured at MOMA's exhibition ''TOMORROWLAND: CalArts in Moving Pictures''. Thor Nis Christiansen (28 December 1957 – 30 March 1981) was a Danish-American serial killer and necrophile from Solvang, California. He committed his first three murders in late 1976 and early 1977, killing young women of similar appearance from nearby Isla Vista. His crimes motivated large demonstrations opposed to violence against women, and in favor of better transportation for the young people residing in Isla Vista. Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two or more players on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Each team also works in unison to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court. Teams are allowed up to three touches to return the ball across the net, and individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively except after a touch off an attempted block. Brian Hanly Asselstine (born September 23, 1953) is a former professional baseball player. He played all or part of six seasons in Major League Baseball, from 1976 until 1981, for the Atlanta Braves, primarily as an outfielder. Don Milan is a former quarterback in the National Football League. He spent five seasons in the NFL. In his fifth year, with Green Bay, Milan was briefly the Packers' starting quarterback when head coach Dan Devine made a much-publicized midseason trade for Los Angeles Rams quarterback John Hadl. He played college football at California State University, Fresno, where he was an offensive end.
