Santa Lucía Riverwalk
The Santa Lucia riverwalk ( es, link=no, Paseo Santa Lucía) is an artificial river located in the Mexico, Mexican city of Monterrey, Nuevo León. History Construction of the river began in 1996, but for economic reasons was stopped for nine years. In 2005, construction continued and was finished in 2007. It was inaugurated by the Mexican President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, Nuevo León's governor Natividad González Parás, and Monterrey's mayor Adalberto Madero in celebration of the 197th anniversary of the Mexican War of Independence. It is one of the most important attractions in the city. It was also part of the 2007 Universal Forum of Cultures' attractions. Adalberto Arturo Madero Quiroga (born 25 September 1969) is a Mexican lawyer and right-wing politician from Nuevo León who has served in the upper house of the Mexican Congress. The Universal Forum of Cultures Monterrey 2007 was an international event that took place in the city of Monterrey, Mexico, starting on September and ending in December of mentioned year. Macroplaza
The Macroplaza or La Gran Plaza is a town square or plaza located in the heart of the city of Monterrey, Mexico. The Macroplaza is the fifth-largest plaza in the world and the largest Plaza in Mexico. It has an extension of 400,000 square metres consisting of various monuments, smaller plazas and gardens. The Macroplaza was built in the early 1980s during the governorship of Alfonso Martínez Domínguez. The construction of the Macroplaza required the demolition of several old buildings and houses including a famous movie theater. Fundidora Park (''Parque Fundidora'' in Spanish) is an urban park located in the Mexican city of Monterrey, built in what once were the grounds of the Monterrey Foundry, the first steel and iron foundry in Latin America, and, for many years, the most important one in the region.
