Santa Claus (1959 Film)
''Santa Claus'' (sometimes also known as ''Santa Claus vs. the Devil'') is a 1959 Mexican fantasy film directed by Rene Cardona and co-written with Adolfo Torres Portillo. In the film, Santa Claus works in outer space and battles with a demon named Pitch, sent to Earth by Lucifer to ruin Christmas by killing Santa and "making all the children of the Earth do evil". A dubbed and slightly edited English-language cut was produced for United States markets in 1960 under the direction of Ken Smith. Its lampooning on a 1993 episode of '' Mystery Science Theater 3000'' brought the film to a wider recognition and cult status. Pulgarcito (actor)
Cesáreo Quezadas (born 18 December 1950) is a Mexican actor. He took the stage name of Pulgarcito from the film of the same name in which he debuted in 1957. During the 1960s he achieved worldwide fame for acting in many films. However, in 2005, he was sentenced 20 years in prison for sexually abusing his own daughter. Biography Cesáreo Quezadas made his film debut at the age of seven in a film by René Cardona called Pulgarcito in the reissue of the famous story of the Brothers Grimm. Due to the success of his interpretation and already known with the nickname of Pulgarcito he starred in so many films by René Cardona and brothers Miguel M. Delgado and Agustín P. Delgado, generally in the role of a rogue boy, orphaned and needy, with an angelic and sarcastic look impudence. A heckler is a person who harasses and tries to disconcert others with questions, challenges, or gibes. Hecklers are often known to shout encouraging comments at a performance or event, or to interrupt set-piece speeches, with the intent of disturbing performers and/or participants. RiffTrax is an American company that produces scripted humorous commentary tracks which are synced to mostly public domain feature films, education shorts, and television episodes. With the talents of former ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'' (''MST3K'') cast members and writers, RiffTrax also produces several live shows each year which are broadcast to movie theaters. The style of commentating originated from MST3K, their earlier television series, in which they would similarly mock (or "riff") films aloud while watching them. ''Night of the Blood Beast'' is a 1958 American science fiction film, science-fiction horror film about a team of scientists who are stalked by an alien creature, which implants its embryos in an astronaut's body during a space flight. Produced by exploitation filmmaker Roger Corman and his brother Gene Corman, Gene, it was one of the first films directed by Bernard L. Kowalski and was written by first-time screenwriter Martin Varno, who was 21 years old. It starred several actors who had regularly worked with Roger Corman, including Michael Emmet, Ed Nelson, Steve Dunlap, Georgianna Carter and Tyler McVey. Paul Chaplin (born Paul Schersten) is an American writer and comedian, known for his work on the television series ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'', for which he wrote and played the recurring characters of an Observer, Ned the Nanite, Pitch the Demon, and Ortega, along with several other bit roles. Churubusco-Azteca Studios
Estudios Churubusco is one of the oldest and largest movie studios in Mexico. It is located in the Churubusco neighborhood of Mexico City. History It was inaugurated in 1945 after a 1943 agreement between RKO and Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta (of Televisa). In 1950 it was acquired by the government of Mexico and merged with Estudios y Laboratorios Azteca to form Estudios Churubusco Azteca. Since 1958 it has been controlled by the government of Mexico. Of the four motion picture studios during the golden age of Mexican cinema—the others were Estudios America, Estudios San Angel and Estudios Tepeyac—it and Televisa San Angel (the former Estudios San Angel) are still in operation.
