From the fifteenth century it was used as a parish church until 1837 when it was abandoned and gradually fell into ruin. Sant Pere de Graudescales was excavated and restored during the second half of the 20th century.

The Province of Lleida (; Aranese Occitan: Lhèida ; es, Lérida ) is one of the four provinces of Catalonia. Berga () is the capital of the ''comarca'' (county) of Berguedà, in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It is bordered by the municipalities of Cercs, Olvan, Avià, Capolat and Castellar del Riu. History Berga derives its name from the ''Bergistani,'' an Iberian tribe which lived in the area before the Roman conquest. The Bergistani were first subdued by Hannibal in 218 BC.
