Sansone Contro I Pirati
''Samson and the Sea Beast'' ( it, Sansone contro i pirati, also known as ''Samson Against the Pirates'') is a 1963 Italian peplum film directed by Tanio Boccia. The plot centres around a pirate terrorising the Antilles. He plunders ships, slaughtering their crews and selling women as slaves. One of the women asks a man named Sansone for help battling the pirates. Tanio Boccia
Camillo Tanio Boccia (15 June 1911 – 12 March 1982), was an Italian film director and screenwriter active between the 1950s and the early 1970s. From 1960 onwards, he was regularly credited as Amerigo Anton. Career Born in Potenza, Basilicata, he started as a dancer and choreographer in Rome in the 1930s, later moving on to act in regional, dialectal stage plays. He had a small role in ''Variety Lights'' (1951) by Alberto Lattuada and Federico Fellini, his first and sole performance as a film actor. Boccia directed 20 low-budget films in his career. He is best known for his work in the adventure film genre, particularly peplum, in the early 1960s with films such as '' Caesar the Conqueror'' (1962), '' Samson Against the Pirates'' (1963) and ''Hercules of the Desert ''(1964). Attilio Dottesio (16 July 1909 – 12 February 1989) was an Italian film character actor and singer. He appeared in 170 films between 1940 and 1985. Born in Brescia, Dottesio began his career in France, where first he obtained some success as a pop singer and later debuted as an actor in the film ''The Pearls of the Crown'' directed by Sacha Guitry. Back in Italy, he attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, then he began an intense career as a character actor. Life and career Born in Bologna, the son of a career officer in the Kingdom of Italy, Italian army, Altamura grew up in Rome, where he studied at the liceo classico. After having worked for some time as a freelance journalist, he started his professional acting career in the first half of 1950s.
