Sanremo Music Festival 2003
The Sanremo Music Festival 2003 ( it, Festival di Sanremo 2003), officially the 53rd Italian Song Festival (), was the 53rd annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, between 5 and 9 March 2003 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Pippo Baudo, assisted by Serena Autieri and Claudia Gerini. Baudo also served as the artistic director of the Festival. The winner of the Big Artists section was Alexia with the song "Per dire di no". Sergio Cammariere won the Mia Martini Critics Award with the song "Tutto quello che un uomo". Pippo Baudo
Giuseppe Vittorio Raimondo Baudo (born 7 June 1936), known as Pippo Baudo, is one of the most famous Italian television presenters, with a career spanning six decades. He is often nicknamed "Superpippo" (referencing the Italian name of Super Goof). Baudo has also been the artistic director and president of the Teatro Stabile di Catania. Career Baudo was born in Militello in Val di Catania. While studying law at the University of Catania, he became involved in entertainment as an actor and host. He also learned to play the piano. He graduated with a degree in law, despite his interest in entertainment. At the end of the 1950s, he became a singer and pianist for Orchestra Moonlight. Cecilia Cipressi (born 26 February 1977), best known as Syria or Airys, is an Italian singer and entertainer. Life and career Born in Rome, Syria is the daughter of Elio Cipressi, a record producer and former singer. Enrico Ruggeri
Enrico Ruggeri (born 5 June 1957) is an Italian singer-songwriter. Biography A native of Milan, Ruggeri made his debut in the 1970s with the punk band Decibel. In 1981 he began his solo career and established himself as a songwriter: his most famous success in this latter role is "Il mare d'inverno" ("The Sea in Winter"), brought to chart by Loredana Bertè. He won the Sanremo Music Festival twice: in 1987 with "Si può dare di più" ("You can give more") together with Gianni Morandi and Umberto Tozzi and in 1993 with "Mistero" ("Mystery"). Alessandro "Alex" Britti (born 23 August 1968) is an Italian singer-songwriter and guitarist. Biography When he was 17, he started his first band, playing blues at clubs in Rome, and eventually moved to Milan. In 1989 he established the Alex Britti Blues Band. He has worked with Buddy Miles, Billy Preston, Louisiana Red and has toured Europe with Rosa King. In the mid-1990s, he toured with Francesco De Gregori. Alberto Salerno
Alberto Salerno (born 30 December 1949) is an Italian lyricist and producer. Life and career Born in Milan, Salerno is the son of the popular lyricist Nisa. He started composing lyrics in the late 1960s, becoming a usual collaborator of Mino Reitano, and writing hits such as Dik Dik's "L'isola di Wright" and Nomadi's " Io vagabondo". In 1977 his song "Bella da morire", performed by Homo Sapiens, won the Sanremo Music Festival. He started his activity as a producer 1979 with the debut album of Alberto Fortis. Lino Banfi (born Pasquale Zagaria; 9 July 1936) is an Italian film actor and presenter. He has appeared in more than 100 films since 1960. Giorgio Panariello
Giorgio Panariello (born 30 September 1960 in Florence) is an Italian comedian, film and stage actor, director and television presenter. Biography Born in Florence to a father of Campanian origin, he raised in Cinquale, a seaside town in the province of Massa-Carrara. During his high school years in Marina di Massa he became close friend with Carlo Conti, disc jockey and local TV presenter, with whom he started his early career as comedian in Versilia.
