Sanremo Music Festival 1978
The Sanremo Music Festival 1978 was the 28th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia between 26 and 28 January 1978. The final night was broadcast by Rai 1, while the first two nights were broadcast live only by radio. The show was presented by Stefania Casini, Beppe Grillo, Maria Giovanna Elmi and Vittorio Salvetti (who also served as artistic director). Maria Giovanna Elmi
Maria Giovanna Elmi (born 25 August 1940) is an Italian former television announcer, presenter, journalist, actress and singer. Born in Rome, Elmi attended the faculty of letter at the university, then in 1968 she was employed by RAI TV as an announcer. Her popularity raised in early seventies, when she hosted the children show ''Il dirigibile'' together with the singer Mal, playing the fairy Azzurrina, from which she inherited the nickname "fatina" (i.e. young fairy in Italian). Elmi hosted two editions of the Sanremo Music Festival (in 1977 and 1978). She ranked at first place in two public polls of the most appreciated female television personalities in 1970 () and in 1981 (Abacus). Oscar Avogadro (9 August 1951 – 30 September 2010) was an Italian lyricist. Born in Turin, Avogadro debuted in the late 1960s as the vocalist of the short-lived vocal group . After the group disbanded, he started a career as a lyricist, getting his first hits in collaboration with Sandro Giacobbe in the early 1970s. Sanremo (; lij, Sanrémmo(ro) or , ) or San Remo is a city and comune on the Mediterranean coast of Liguria, in northwestern Italy. Founded in Roman times, it has a population of 55,000, and is known as a tourist destination on the Italian Riviera. It hosts numerous cultural events, such as the Sanremo Music Festival and the Milan–San Remo cycling classic. Giovanni Bella, best known as Gianni Bella (born 14 March 1946), is an Italian composer and singer-songwriter. Background Born in Catania, Bella started his career as composer for his sister, singer Marcella Bella authoring several hits with lyricist Giancarlo Bigazzi. Beans (band)
Beans (also spelled as I Beans) are an Italian pop band, mainly successful in the seventies. Career The group formed in 1969 in Catania, Sicily. Under the production of singer-songwriter Gianni Bella, they got a large success with their cover of the 1918 Armando Gill's classic "Come Pioveva", which peaked at the fourth place on the Italian hit parade. Marco Ferradini (born 28 July 1949) is an Italian pop-rock singer-songwriter and musician. Career Born in Como, Ferradini debuted as a guitarist in several groups. Dora Moroni (born December 14, 1956) is an Italian singer. Dora Moroni was born in Ravenna. She demonstrated star potential very early in her life: at age 8, in 1964, after having participated in many music and singing contests, she won her first competition, in her home town. Daniel Sentacruz Ensemble was an Italian pop group formed in 1974. Their first single "Soleado", a semi-instrumental track written by lead singer Ciro Dammicco and Dario Baldan Bembo, sold over five million copies in Europe, giving the band international popularity. Marco Luberti (born 13 February 1941) is an Italian lyricist, record producer and singer-songwriter.
