Alfred Sankoh (born 22 October 1988) is a Sierra Leonean footballer who is currently plays for NSÍ Runavík as a midfielder. Career Club Sankoh began training with Strømsgodset in May 2008, going on to sign permanently for the club in July of the same year. Baïssama Mohamed Sankoh (born 20 March 1992) is a Guinean professional footballer who plays for Cypriot club Nea Salamina and the Guinea national team. Club career Born in Nogent-sur-Marne, France, Sankoh made his Ligue 2 debut during the 2011–12 season for EA Guingamp. He joined Brest on loan for the 2015–16 season. For Brest, he mostly played in midfield, instead of his accustomed full-back position. On 3 July 2017, he joined French side SM Caen on a three-year contract. Foday Sankoh
Foday Saybana Sankoh (17 October 1937 – 29 July 2003) was the founder of the Sierra Leone rebel group Revolutionary United Front (RUF), which was supported by Charles Taylor-led NPFL in the 11-year-long Sierra Leone Civil War, starting in 1991 and ending in 2002. An estimated 50,000 people were killed during the war, and over 500,000 people were displaced in neighboring countries. Early life and career Foday Sankoh was born on 17 October 1937, in the remote village of Masang Mayoso, Tonkolili District in the Northern part of Sierra Leone to an ethnic Temne father and a Loko mother. Sankoh was the son of a farmer. Sankoh attended primary and secondary school in Magburaka, Tonkolili District and took on a number of jobs in Magburaka before he joined the Sierra Leone army in 1956. Gibril Sankoh
Gibril Sankoh (born 15 May 1983) is a Sierra Leone former professional footballer who played as a centre back. Club career Sankoh played in Freetown at Royal Stars and was selected for the Sierra Leone national football team at the age of 17, but would not make his debut. In 2000, he was forced to flee since he had the same surname as rebel leader Foday Sankoh, even though he is not related to him. He arrived in The Netherlands by boat and ended up in an asylum seekers' centre in Rijsbergen. After moving to Heemskerk, he went to play at De Kennemers in Beverwijk. There he was scouted for Stormvogels Telstar. In the 2004–05 season Sankoh made the transfer to FC Groningen after having played seventeen games for Stormvogels Telstar. Lamina Sankoh
Lamina Sankoh (28 June 1884 – 1964), born Etheldred Nathaniel Jones, was a Sierra Leone Creole pre-independence politician, educator, banker and cleric. Sankoh is known most prominently for helping to found the Peoples Party in 1948, one of the first political parties in Sierra Leone. It eventually became the Sierra Leone People's Party. Early life Lamina Sankoh was born as Etheldred Nathaniel Jones in Gloucester, British Sierra Leone, in the Mountain District in the city of Freetown on 28 June 1884 to ethnic Creole parents. He attended a village school in Gloucester, The Cathedral School, Albert Academy and CMS Grammar School.
