Sanka Abeyruwan
Sanka Abeyruwan (full name Sanka Ramesh Abeyruwan; born 29 October 1992) is a current Sri Lankan cricketer. He was born in Colombo and currently living in Melbourne Australia. He has played for the Sinhalese Sports Club and the Colts Cricket Club in the domestic game in Sri Lanka and Southern Rangers Cricket Club , Haig Fawkner Cricket Club and Hoppers Crossing Cricket Club in Melbourne. He is a first-class bowler in 22 matches from the 2012–13 season and has taken 24 wickets. He bowls leg break and is a right-handed batsman. His best bowling to date is 5–24 and his highest score is 28 runs. Abeyruwan made his first-class debut in February 2013 when he played for the Sinhalese in the 2012–13 Premier Trophy against the Badureliya Sports Club. Premier Trophy
The Major League Tournament (formerly known as the Premier Trophy) is the main domestic first-class cricket competition in Sri Lanka. It was established in 1938 and has existed under a number of different names. Matches before the 1988–89 season are not considered first-class. Relaunched as the Lakspray Trophy in 1988–89, it was renamed as the P. Saravanamuttu Trophy in 1990–91 and as the Premier Championship in 1998–99. There was a change of format in 2015–16 when it became the Premier League Tournament which was split into Tiers A and B the following year. The league was cancelled in 2020–21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then a new temporary tournament was introduced in 2021–22 called the National Super Provincial 4-Day Tournament. Moors Sports Club is a first-class cricket team based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. History Moors Sports Club was founded by members of Colombo Grand Mosque at New Moor Street in the Colombo neighbourhood of Pettah. Like most clubs founded during the colonial era it was founded on ethno-religious lines and catered to the minority Moorish community. The club later moved to its present location at Muttiah Road in the neighbourhood of Slave Island. Sir Razik Fareed laid the foundation stone for a Club House on 25 September 1936 and Governor Sir Edward Stubbs declared open the pavilion on 27 February 1937. The first inter-club match at the venue was between the Moors SC and Kalutara Town Club. Badureliya Sports Club is a first-class cricket team in Sri Lanka. It plays its home matches at Surrey Village Cricket Ground, Maggona. In late 2008, the club threatened to boycott the Sri Lankan domestic tournaments due to their objections to being relegated to Tier B from their position in Tier A.
