Sangsad Bangladesh Television ( bn, সংসদ বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশন), often known as Sangsad Television ( bn, সংসদ টেলিভিশন; ), branded on-air as Sangsad Bangladesh ( bn, সংসদ বাংলাদেশ), is a Bangladeshi state-owned parliamentary television channel, which is the sister of Bangladesh Television. It was launched on 25 January 2011, and broadcasts live from the National Parliament of Bangladesh. Other than that, variety of other programming, such as ones that are educational and regarding development, is broadcast during the channel's last two hours of daily broadcasting. However, in case if there is no parliamentary session, Sangsad Television would broadcast daily from 18:00 to 20:00 ( BST). 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. Around 45 privately owned television channels were permitted by the Government of Bangladesh as of 2019, of which thirty four are currently on air. The Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (''Bangabandhu-1'') is the first Bangladeshi geostationary communications and broadcasting satellite.
