Sang-e-Meel Publications is a Lahore-based publishing house that was established in 1962 in Pakistan. It has to its credit of being the foremost publisher of Urdu books after the partition of India in 1947. Mirza Azeem Baig Chughtai
Mirza Azeem Baig Chughtai (December 30, 1928 – February 17, 2009), known in literary circles by his takhallus (pen name) Shabnam Romani ( ur, ), was a renowned Urdu poet based in Karachi, Pakistan. Shabnam Romani wrote a number of books including ''Jazeera'', ''Doosra Himala'', and ''Tohmat''. Romani was born in Budaun, India, but moved to Pakistan and lived most of his life in Karachi. Ferozsons (Pvt) Limited (also Ferozsons Publishers) ( ur, ) is a Pakistani publishing company in Lahore, Pakistan. Established in 1894, it is Pakistan’s oldest publishing house. In 1954, the Ferozsons Business Group expanded when one of the family members founded Ferozsons Laboratories, one of Pakistan’s first pharmaceutical companies. History Maulvi Ferozuddin was one of the most prominent scholars of his time, having been one of the first people to translate the Qur’an from Arabic to Persian and Urdu. Qurat-ul-Ain Haider
Qurratulain Hyder (20 January 1927 – 21 August 2007) was an Indian Urdu novelist and short story writer, an academic, and a journalist. One of the most outstanding and influential literary names in Urdu literature, she is best known for her magnum opus, '' Aag Ka Darya'' (River of Fire), a novel first published in Urdu in 1959, from Lahore, Pakistan, that stretches from the fourth century BC to post partition of India. Qudratullah Shahab
Qudrat Ullah Shahab (or Qudratullah Shahab, ur, ; 26 February 191724 July 1986) was an eminent Urdu writer and civil servant from Pakistan. Shahab holds the distinction of having served as the Principal Secretary to three heads of state; Governor General Ghulam Muhammad, President Iskander Mirza, and President Ayub Khan. He went on to serve as the Ambassador of Pakistan to the Netherlands in 1962 and later as Information Secretary of Pakistan and Education Secretary of Pakistan. Intizar Hussain ( ur, ; 21 December 1925 – 2 February 2016) was a Pakistani writer of Urdu novels, short stories, poetry and nonfiction.
