Sandy Layman
Sandy Layman is an American politician who served as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, she represents District 5B in northern Minnesota. Early life, education, and career Layman graduated from Brooklyn Center High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational management and communications from Concordia University and a Master of Business Administration in executive management University of St. Thomas. Career Layman was the president of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce from 1987 to 1997, president of the Itasca Development Corporation from 1997 to 2003, commissioner of the Iron Range Resources Board for Governor Tim Pawlenty from 2003 to 2011, and an adjunct professor at the College of St. Scholastica from 2011 to 2016. Tom Anzelc
Thomas Anzelc (born October 4, 1946) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, he represented District 5B in northern Minnesota. Early life, education, and career Anzelc attended Nashwauk- Keewatin High School, graduating in 1964, then went on to Hibbing Junior College in Hibbing, receiving his A.A. in 1966, and to St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, receiving his B.S. of Political Science in 1968. He later attended graduate school at the Humphrey Institute branch at the University of Minnesota in Duluth. He was a civics teacher and a basketball and cross country coach in Hibbing, and also worked as legislative coordinator for the Laborers Union District Council of Minnesota and North Dakota for 12 years. The Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) is the Minnesota affiliate of the U.S. Democratic Party. As of 2022, it controls four of Minnesota's eight U.S. House seats, both of its U.S. Senate seats, the Minnesota House of Representatives, and all other statewide offices, including the governorship. Beginning in 2023, the party will also control the Minnesota Senate, giving it full control of state government. Tim Pawlenty
Timothy James Pawlenty (; born November 27, 1960) is an American attorney, businessman, and politician who served as the 39th governor of Minnesota from 2003 to 2011. A member of the Republican Party, Pawlenty served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1993 to 2003, and as House Majority Leader from 1999 to 2003.
