Sandy Galbraith
Sandy Galbraith (born c. 1947) is a former professional golfer and current amateur golfer. Early in his career Galbraith had much success as an amateur in his home state of California, winning the 1970 Northern California Open and finishing runner-up at the 1971 California State Amateur Championship and 1972 Pacific Coast Amateur. He turned pro shortly thereafter and made it onto the PGA Tour in the fall of 1975. Galbraith did not have much success on tour, however, only earning full-time status for two seasons. He had a little more success overseas, most notably losing to Greg Norman in a playoff at the 1978 South Seas Classic. Shortly afterwards, while working but as a mortgage banker, Galbraith recorded a number of high results in California amateur tournaments, including another runner-up finish at the 1991 California State Amateur Championship. San Antonio Texas Open
The Texas Open, known as the Valero Texas Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, played near San Antonio, Texas. It dates back years to 1922, when it was first called the Texas Open; San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corporation took over naming rights in 2002. It is played at The Oaks Course at the TPC San Antonio, northeast of the city. The Valero Energy Foundation is the host organization for the Valero Texas Open. The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Founded in 1860, it was originally held annually at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland. Later the venue rotated between a select group of coastal links golf courses in the United Kingdom. Fountain Valley is a suburban city in Orange County, California. The population was 57,047 at the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census. The Amateur Championship (sometimes referred to as the British Amateur or British Amateur Championship outside the UK) is a golf tournament which has been held annually in the United Kingdom since 1885 except during the two World Wars, and in 1949 and 2019 when Ireland hosted the championship. The Australian Open, owned and run by Golf Australia, is the oldest and most prestigious golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. The Open was first played in 1904 and takes place toward the end of each year. The winner of the tournament receives the ''Stonehaven Cup'', presented by Lord Stonehaven, the Governor-General of Australia from 1925 to 1930. It was first presented in 1930. Status The Australian Open is the "flagship tournament" of the PGA Tour of Australasia, and until 2022 had a special status in the Official World Golf Ranking's points system. Terry Kendall
Terry Kendall (11 October 1947 – 15 November 2002) was a professional golfer from New Zealand. Professional career Kendall's first major success was at the 1969 New Zealand PGA Championship at the Mount Maunganai Golf Course. He shot a course record 63 (−10) in the second round to take the lead. Although he did not break 70 on the weekend, he made a "pressure putt" on the final hole to defeat Bob Charles and John Lister by one. In September he was selected to represent New Zealand, together with John Lister, at the World Cup in Singapore. In October, he recorded a high result at the West End Tournament in South Australia. At the beginning of the tournament, however, he opened poorly with a 73 (+3).
