Sands Point Country Day School
Sands Point Country Day School (also known as Sands Point Academy) was an elementary and high school (K-12) located in Sands Point, New York, from 1954 to 1974. The school was started by Marie L. Fetsch as a summer school and went to full-year operation in 1961. From 1962 to 1971, Benjamin Fine was headmaster of the school. In the July 31, 1972 issue of New York magazine, a lengthy article by Nicholas Gonzalez Nicholas Edward Gonzalez is an American actor. K–12 Education
K-1 is a professional kickboxing promotion established in 1993, well known worldwide mainly for its heavyweight division fights and Grand Prix tournaments. In January 2012, K-1 Global Holdings Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong, acquired the rights to K-1, and is the current organizer of K-1 events worldwide. Founded in 1993 by karateka Kazuyoshi Ishii, at its height in the late 90s and the 2000s under the ownership of the Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG), K-1 was the largest and most prestigious "Kickboxing" organization in the world. Sands Point, New York
Sands Point is a village located at the tip of the Cow Neck Peninsula in the Town of North Hempstead, in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. It is considered part of the Greater Port Washington area, which is anchored by Port Washington. The population was 2,675 at the 2010 census. History The village was incorporated in 1910, and is named for the Sands family. In 1912, the village absorbed the communities of Barkers Point and Motts Point, and in 1932, it absorbed the Harbor Acreas community. It was originally owned by three families: the Sands, the Vanderbilts, and the Cornwells. In 1917, Daniel Guggenheim bought his Hempstead House, formerly Castle Gould. Benjamin Fine
Benjamin Fine (September 1, 1905May 16, 1975) was an American journalist and writer. He worked at ''The New York Times'' from 1938 to 1958. Fine was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and died while on vacation in Busan, South Korea. Biography Early years Benjamin Fine was born September 1, 1905, in New York City to Belarusian immigrants of Jewish descent, Charles and Rebecca Fine, and spent his youth in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In 1933 he received a Master of Science from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Nicholas Gonzalez (doctor)
Nicholas James Gonzalez (December 28, 1947 – July 21, 2015) was a New York-based physician known for developing the Gonzalez regimen (or Gonzalez protocol), an alternative cancer treatment. Gonzalez's treatments are based on the belief that pancreatic enzymes are the body's main defense against cancer and can be used as a cancer treatment. His methods have been generally rejected by the medical community. and he has been characterized as a quack and fraud by other doctors and health fraud watchdog groups. In 1994 Gonzalez was reprimanded and placed on two years' probation by the New York state medical board for "departing from accepted practice". In one non-randomized clinical trial of terminally ill patients with pancreatic cancer, the Gonzalez-treated patients were found to have died much earlier than those treated with conventional chemotherapy.
