Sandra Palmer (golfer)
Sandra Palmer (born March 10, 1943) is an American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1964 and won 19 LPGA Tour events, including two major championships, during her career. Amateur career Palmer was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but grew up (and first played golf) in Bangor, Maine. She attended North Texas State University where she was a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen. Palmer attended North Texas State University, where she was runner-up in the 1961 National Collegiate Championship. While at North Texas State, Palmer joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She was a four-time winner of the West Texas Amateur and won the Texas State Amateur in 1963. Professional career Palmer turned professional and became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1964. She won 19 events on the Tour, and also several other professional events, including some as a senior. Sandra Marie Palmer (born on 4 August 1969) is a Jamaican entrepreneur known for her notable ventures. In 1997, she founded SSP APTEC, an information technology company, which later expanded with the opening of a branch in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2002. In 2014, Palmer initiated two additional enterprises, Soulmates, a boutique match-making social club, and Peak Performance International, a consulting firm. Between 2006 and 2018, Palmer assumed roles as a lecturer at the Mona School of Business and Management at the University of the West Indies, Mona. During her tenure, she focused on instructing courses related to new ventures and entrepreneurship. In the same period, Palmer also taught managerial economics and new venture creation at the Northern Caribbean University.
