Sandra Kalniete
Sandra Kalniete (born 22 December 1952) is a politics of Latvia, Latvian politician, author, diplomat and independence movement leader. She served as Foreign Minister of Latvia 2002–2004 and as European Commissioner for Agriculture & Rural Development, European Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries in 2004. Since 2009, she has served as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the European People's Party. She is currently a member of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and a substitute member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI). The Civic Union ( Latvian: ''Pilsoniskā savienība'', PS) was a political party in Latvia. It was founded in 2008, and most of its members came from the For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK and New Era Party. Euronest Parliamentary Assembly
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is the inter-parliamentary forum in which members of the European Parliament and the national parliaments of Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia participate and forge closer political and economic ties with the European Union. It was established in 2011 by the European Commission as a component of the Eastern Partnership. After the elections in Belarus in 2010 were declared as flawed by the OSCE, the membership of Belarus in Euronest was automatically suspended. Belarus is welcome to re-join the Assembly once political requirements have been fulfilled. The European People's Party (EPP) is a European political party with Christian-democratic, conservative, and liberal-conservative member parties.
