''Sandokan to the Rescue'' (Italian: ''Sandokan alla riscossa'') is a 1964 historical adventure film directed by Luigi Capuano and starring Ray Danton, Guy Madison and Franca Bettoia.Goble p.939 It was made as a co-production between Italy and West Germany. It is based on the 1907 novel ''Sandokan to the Rescue'' by Emilio Salgari featuring the character of Sandokan a Malayan pirate. The film's sets were designed by the art director Giancarlo Bartolini Salimbeni and Massimo Tavazzi. Isacco Ravaioli, best known as Isarco Ravaioli (3 March 1933 – 15 February 2004), was an Italian film actor. Life and career Born in Ravenna, Ravaioli obtained a diploma of teaching in his hometown, and he started working as a primary school teacher. Raf Baldassarre (17 January 1932 - 11 January 1995) was an Italian film actor. Life and career Born Raffaele Baldassarre in Giurdignano, Lecce, Apulia, he started his career in the late 1950s, being cast in many peplum and adventure films, alternating between stereotypical roles of the young villain and the loyal friend of the protagonist. Giulio Marchetti (9 June 1911 – 1 December 1993) was an Italian stage, film and television actor and presenter. Life and career Born in Barcelona, Marchetti was the grandson of the operetta actor and comedian Giulio and the son of the theatrical artistic director Adriano. Mario Petri (21 January 1922 – 26 January 1985) was an Italian operatic bass-baritone particularly associated with Mozart and Rossini roles.
