Sandberg Institute
The Sandberg Institute (Dutch: ''Sandberg Instituut'') is a postgraduate institution in Amsterdam that offers the master's programme of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. It is named after Willem Sandberg. Since 1995, the Sandberg Institute has been offering a number of master's programmes in art and design. The director of the Sandberg Institute since 2010 is Jurgen Bey. History The Sandberg Institute was first founded in 1990 by Simon den Hartog, a former direct of Gerrit Rietveld Academy, originally to organise post-academic activities that included seminars and exhibitions. It is named after Willem Sandberg, the former director of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, designer and advocate of the new and others in art. In 1995, it developed into the postgraduate department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Margi Geerlinks
Margi Geerlinks (born 1970) is a Dutch photographer. Born in Kampen, Overijssel, Geerlinks lives and works in Rotterdam. She graduated from the Rietveld Academy in 1991, the Art Academy Constantyn Huygens in 1995, and the Masters Program at the Sandberg Institute in 1997. Her work is described as being "concerned with the ways the human species creates an identity for themselves, and the forces that seem to govern this process", and she digitally manipulates her photographs to achieve the desired effect. A 1999 work by Geerlinks, ''Untitled'', is owned by the Mint Museum. Her photograph ''Eve II'' was donated to the National Museum of Women in the Arts by Heather and Tony Podesta. Gerrit Rietveld Academie
The Gerrit Rietveld Academie, also known as Rietveld School of Art & Design and Rietveld Academy, is an art academy in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The academy was founded in 1924 and offers programs in fine arts and design. Koert Van Mensvoort
Koert van Mensvoort (born 9 April 1974) is an artist, philosopher and scientist best known for his work on the philosophical concept of Next Nature. Academic Van Mensvoort was the head of the Next Nature Lab at the Industrial Design Department of the Eindhoven University of Technology, a position he has held from 2003 until 2015. In 1997 Van Mensvoort received a Master of Science degree in computer science, specializing in computer graphics from the Eindhoven University of Technology. In 2000 he completed a Master of Fine Arts degree at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. In 2008 he was Visionary in Residence at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Frank Tjepkema (born 1970) is a Dutch people, Dutch designer based in Amsterdam. He works in interior design, architecture, product design, visual design and jewellery. He is most known for his collections, ''Bronze Age'', ''Future Nostalgia'', ''Clockwork Love'', and his interior design projects. Dafna Kaffeman
Dafna Kaffeman (born 1972, Jerusalem) is an artist and a senior lecturer at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. She works with glass and various materials and techniques such as embroidery, print ,drawing, to produce what the David Owsley Museum of Art describes as "beautiful crafted surfaces and disturbing text about aggressors and victims".
