Sandar Idrettslag is a sports club from Sandar, Sandefjord, Norway. It was founded on 24 September 1931 as ''Framnes IL'', but the name ''Sandar IL'' was taken already on 13 October 1931. The club has sections for association football and handball, and the team colors are red, black and white. Footballer Jon Midttun Lie played for Sandar IL from age 13 to age 16. In 2008 Lie's then-team Lillestrøm SK faced Sandar in the first round of the Norwegian Cup. Sandefjord
Sandefjord () is a city and the most populous municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. The municipality of Sandefjord was established on 1 January 1838. The municipality of Sandar was merged into Sandefjord on 1 January 1969. On 1 January 2017, rural municipalities of Andebu and Stokke were merged into Sandefjord as part of a nationwide municipal reform. This merger was the first one to take place during the reform. 2007 Norwegian Football Cup
The 2007 Norwegian Football Cup was the 102nd season of Norwegian annual knockout football tournament. The competition started on 19 May 2007 with the first-round games and ended on 11 November 2007 with the final. The defending champions were Fredrikstad. The format of the Cup has not changed for this season what means that, unlike other European cup competitions, all teams (including Tippeligaen ones) entered the Cup in the First Round. In the First and Second Round amateur teams (or at least lower-placed at the time of the draw) were seeded and played the matches at home ground. From the Third Round until the end the draw was random. The winners, Lillestrøm, qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2008–09 UEFA Cup. Terese Hosking (Pedersen) (born 27 April 1980 in Sandefjord) is a Norwegian handball goalkeeper. She recently played for Byåsen HE, but is now retired. Norwegian Third Division
The Norwegian Third Division, also called 3. divisjon, is the fourth highest division of the men's football league in Norway. Like the rest of the Norwegian football league system, the season runs from spring to autumn, running approximately from April to October. After the 2010 season, the league was reorganised, reducing the number of teams to 164 and halving the number of parallel sections from 24 to 12. After the 2016 season, the league was again reorganised, reducing the number of teams from 164 to 84, and halved the number of groups from twelve to six. Sandefjord Fotball, commonly known simply as Sandefjord, is a Norwegian professional football club, founded on 10 September 1998. The club currently competes in Eliteserien, the top tier of the Norwegian football league system. Their home ground is the Release Arena, located in Sandefjord, Vestfold. The club reached 1. divisjon in 1999, where they made quick progress and soon settled as strong competitors for promotion to the top division. Eliteserien () is a Norwegian professional league for association football clubs. At the top of the Norwegian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition.
