Sanan Kachornprasart
Sanan Kachornprasart ( th, สนั่น ขจรประศาสน์, , ; born 7 September 1935 – 15 February 2013) was a Thai politician and military officer (Major General). He was deputy prime minister in the cabinet of Abhisit Vejjajiva, and was chief advisor of Chartthaipattana Party. Early life and military service Sanan Kachornprasart was born in Pho Thale, Phichit. He graduated from Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy and United States Army Armor School, at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Afterwards he served as an officer in the tank force (in Thailand traditionally "cavalry") of the Royal Thai Army until he was dismissed for supporting the coup d'état of 26 March 1977, led by General Chalard Hiransiri against the Thanin Kraivichien government. Phichit Province
Phichit ( th, พิจิตร, , ) is one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces (''changwat'') lies in lower northern Thailand and 330 km due north of Bangkok. Neighbouring provinces are (from north clockwise) Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, and Kamphaeng Phet. Geography The Nan and Yom Rivers flow through Phichit province, joining shortly before the Chao Phraya is formed. Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy
Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy (CRMA) ( th, โรงเรียนนายร้อยพระจุลจอมเกล้า, translit=Roong riian naai rɔ́ɔi prá Jù-lá-jɔɔm-glâo or รร.จปร.) is the service academy of Royal Thai Army (RTA). The Abhisit Cabinet ( Council of Ministers) or formally the 59th Council of Ministers (คณะรัฐมนตรี คณะที่ 59) was announced after the appointment of Abhisit Vejjajiva as Prime Minister of Thailand on the 17 December 2008. Major General
Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparent confusion of a lieutenant general outranking a major general, whereas a major outranks a lieutenant. In the Commonwealth and in the United States, when appointed to a field command, a major general is typically in command of a division consisting of around 6,000 to 25,000 troops (several regiments or brigades). The Military ranks of Thailand are the military insignia used by the Royal Thai Armed Forces. The officer ranks are influenced by the ranks of the United States, while the other ranks are influenced by those of France. Mahachon Party
