Saint Joseph
Joseph (; el, Ἰωσήφ, translit=Ioséph) was a 1st-century Jewish man of Nazareth who, according to the canonical Gospels, was married to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and was the legal father of Jesus. The Gospels also name some brothers of Jesus who may have been: (1) the sons of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Joseph; (2) sons of Mary, the wife of Clopas and sister of Mary the mother of Jesus; or (3) sons of Joseph by a former marriage. Joseph is venerated as Saint Joseph in the Catholic Church, Orthodox Church, Oriental Orthodox Church and Anglicanism. His feast day is observed by some Lutherans. The Church of St. Joseph is a former parish church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 5 Monroe Street in the neighborhoods of Chinatown and Two Bridges in Manhattan, New York City. It is now administered by the Parish of Transfiguration and of St. James/St. Joseph. The Parish of St. Joseph had merged with the former neighboring Parish of St. Joachim in 1957. In 2007, it was merged again with the nearby Parish of St. James. Finally, in 2015, the parish was merged with the Church of the Transfiguration. San Giuseppe dei Teatini is a Roman Catholic church on via Vittorio Emanuele, at the southwest corner of the Quattro Canti, in the historic center of the city of Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. The east flank of the nave faces the Fontana Pretoria, across the piazza from Santa Caterina. San Giuseppe is an example of the Sicilian Baroque in Palermo. History The church was built at the beginning of the 17th century by Giacomo Besio, a Genoese member of the Theatine order. It has a majestic though simple façade. San Giuseppe is a Roman Catholic church in Siena, Tuscany, Italy. It was designed by Baldassare Peruzzi. History The church was commissioned by the contrada dell'Onda and begun in 1521. Construction continued for the whole century. Architecture The façade, finished in 1653, is mostly in brickwork, with two superimposed orders divided by pilaster strips. San Giuseppe is a Baroque church in Parma. The church was built from 1626 to 1666 under the designs of Girolamo Rainaldi. Work was interrupted by the plague affecting the city. San Giuseppe is a Baroque architecture, Baroque-style Roman Catholic church in Milan, region of Lombardy, Italy. Construction was begun in 1607 and completed in 1630. The architect was Francesco Maria Richini. The right side of the church overlooks Via Andegari, after a family with this name. It seems that the title of the street comes from the name of a family known as the "Andegardi" or "undegardi".
