San Agustín Del Guadalix
San Agustín del Guadalix is a Spanish town located north of the Comunidad de Madrid, near to Sierra de Guadarrama. It is bordered by Pedrezuela to the north, the municipalities of El Molar and Algete to the east and Colmenar Viejo to the south and west. The origin of the town is obscure, but it appears that it was settled by the Iberians in the pre-Christian era. Proximity to Madrid has made it popular as a commuter base, resulting on its population more than tripling from 2,459 inhabitants in the late 20th century to over 9,000 in 2006In 2022 it had a population of 13,608. This has substantially changed the face of the town, resulting in blocks of flats replacing the older two-storey buildings as the preferred means of accommodation. Furthermore, the traditional agriculture and livestock industries have been superseded by heavy industry. Algete () is a town and municipality in central Spain. It lies in the comarca de Alcalá in the autonomous community of the Community of Madrid. It had a population of 19,345 in 2008. Algete is northeast of the capital. Sights include the church of Asunción de Nuestra Señora. History There are no records of the first settlements in Algete. There are remains of human settlements in the Iron Age found in the fertile plain of Jarama. Remains of Roman villas and Visigoth settlements have also been found. It is known that it was inhabited in Arabic times due to the existence of ''qanat'' or underground waterways. Buitrago del Lozoya () is a municipality of the autonomous community of Madrid in central Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Sierra Norte. The town is one of the few in the community that have maintained its walls, which are of Moorish origin (11th century) and have been restored in the 15th century.
