Samundi
''Samundi'' is a 1992 Tamil-language action film directed by Manoj Kumar. The film stars R. Sarathkumar and Kanaka. The film, produced by Mogannadarajan and V. Shanmugam, had musical score by Deva and was released on 18 September 1992. Plot Samundi, his mother and his little sister Lakshmi move into their new house in a little village. Ponnuthayi, a washerwoman, sympathizes with Samundi's family and she eventually falls in love with Samundi. Rajangam and his brother spread terror among the villagers. One day, the ringing of temple bells and the heralding of the festival throws Samundi into an uncontrollable fit of rage. Ponnuthayi asks the reason for his rage and Samundi tells her about his tragic past. In the past, Samundi prepared his sister Rasathi's wedding and he took her to the temple. Kanaka is a former Indian actress. Personal life Kanaka is the daughter of Tamil actress Devika. She is also the great-granddaughter of Telugu cinema's first sound film's producer Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu. Career She started her career as a heroine in the Tamil movie ''Karakattakkaran, Karagatakaran'', directed by Gangai Amaran, a blockbuster movie which ran more than a year. Manoj Kumar is an Indian film director, producer and television actor who has directed Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films and Tamil serials. He is the brother-in-law of Bharathiraja.
