Samantha "Sam" Kirk (born in 1981 in Chicago, Chicago, Illinois) is a biracial, queer, American artist. She formerly worked in the advertising industry for ten years before pursuing an art career. She explores her mixed race, culture, and queer identity through many different art mediums including digital art, murals, and illustrations. Biography Samantha Kirk was born in Chicago in 1981. As she was growing up, Kirk's family moved to different neighborhoods in the Chicago area, inspiring her to observe the changing scenery and different human experiences of those around her. Her experiences in these neighborhoods, namely the Pilsen Historic District, inspired her future murals. In Kirk's sophomore year of high school, she discovered art as an outlet for her to communicate her queer identity which she later integrated into her artwork. Samuel Kirk (silversmith)
Samuel Kirk (February 15, 1793 – July 6, 1872) was an American silversmith, active in Baltimore, Maryland, and best known for his introduction of repoussé to the United States. He engaged in various partnerships with his sons under the names of S. Kirk and Son and S. Kirk and Sons. In 1979 S. Kirk & Son was purchased by the Stieff Company, which renamed itself Kirk Stieff. Kirk was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, apprenticed in 1810 to James Howell in Philadelphia, and partnered from 1815 to 1820 with John Smith in Baltimore with their shop at 212 Market Street (later known as 106 Baltimore Street). On March 18, 1817, he married Albina Powell. He then worked from 1820 to 1826 in his own practice at 30 Baltimore Street, then from 1826 to 1830 at 140 Baltimore Street, and from 1831 to 1846 at 144 Baltimore Street. Tom Kirk (rugby League)
Tom Kirk (1916–1994) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1930s and 1940s. A New South Wales state representative goal-kicking fullback, he played in Sydney's NSWRFL for the Canterbury-Bankstown and Newtown clubs (with whom he won premierships) as well as with North Sydney. He was the first player to become the season's top point scorer on 5 occasions: 1938, 1940, 1943, 1944, 1946. In 1947 he became the first player to score 1,000 career points in the NSWRFL. Playing career Former fullback of Tumut's Maher Cup team, Kirk moved to Sydney and first tasted premiership success with Canterbury's 1938 Grand Final-winning team, landing four goals in the 19–6 win over Easts in the final.
