Samuel Campbell (July 11, 1773June 2, 1853) was an American politician from New York. Life Campbell attended the common schools. He removed to Columbus, New York and engaged in agricultural pursuits. He was Supervisor of the Town of Columbus in 1807, 1808, 1821 and 1840. He was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1808-09, 1812 and 1820. He served on the staff of Maj. Gen. Nathaniel King as division quartermaster in the War of 1812. He was an associate judge of the Chenango County Court in 1814, Sheriff of Chenango County from 1815 to 1819. and a Justice of the Peace for twenty-five years. Samuel Campbell (Canadian Politician)
Samuel Campbell (July 1788 – September 1851) was a political figure in Nova Scotia. He represented Annapolis County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1820 to 1826. He was born in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, the son of Samuel Campbell, a United Empire Loyalist, and Alice Hogg. Campbell's mother married Colin Campbell after the death of his father. He was married twice: first to Catherine Marshall, the daughter of Samuel Marshall, then to Eliza Jones, the daughter of Cereno Upham Jones. Samuel Campbell (February 14, 1809 Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland – September 22, 1885 New York Mills, Oneida County, New York) was an American politician from New York. Life In 1831, he came to the United States, and settled in New York Mills. There he worked at one of the mills, and became a partner in the company in 1847. He also engaged in farming and raised cattle. On June 22, 1832, he married Agnes Sinclair (1811–1905), and they had eight children. Samuel James Campbell (June 18, 1892 in Mount Carroll – September 3, 1981 in Tucson) was a prominent banker, businessman and civic leader in Mount Carroll, Illinois, in the first half of the 20th century. He operated several farms that raised Angus cattle and owned the Kable News Company of Mount Morris, Illinois, a national distributor of magazines. He headed the boards of trustees of Shimer College for more than 20 years, and was also chairman of the board at Beloit College. Campbell's Mount Carroll residence, built in 1925 when he was the vice president of the Carroll County State Bank, is now part of the Mount Carroll Historic District. It was designed by architect Carroll A. Klein. Samuel Arthur Campbell (August 1, 1895April 13, 1962) was an American nature writer, sometimes known as the "Philosopher of the Forest". He wrote for children and adults, and lectured widely. Life Campbell was born on August 1, 1895, in Watseka, Illinois, the youngest of two children of Arthur J. and Katherine "Kittie" (''née'' Lyman) Campbell. Samuel Cleland Campbell (12 March 1891 – 21 October 1918) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He died of illness (influenza), in British Sierra Leone, while on active service in World War I. Family One of the eight children of John Campbell (1836–1913) and Johanna McIntosh Campbell (1848–1915), née Matheson, he was born in Ballarat, Victoria on 12 March 1891.
