Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 is a smartphone manufactured by Samsung that runs the open source Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" operating system. It was announced and released by Samsung in February 2012. It is available in three colors: black, yellow and orange. Hardware ''Galaxy Mini 2'' features the Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 SoC design in an MSM7227A chip. This contains an ARMv7-based ARM Cortex-A5 CPU clocked to a slightly faster speed of up to 800 MHz, and an enhanced Adreno 200 GPU core. The display is a 3.27-inch HVGA TFT LCD screen with a higher pixel density (320×480) than on a previous-generation model. Inclusion of NFC ( Near Field Communication) varies by model. Adreno is a series of graphics processing unit (GPU) semiconductor intellectual property cores developed by Qualcomm and used in many of their SoCs. History Adreno (an anagram of AMD's graphic card brand '' Radeon''), was originally developed by ATI Technologies and sold to Qualcomm in 2009 for $65M, and was used in their mobile chipset products. NFC Tag
TecTiles are a near field communication (NFC) application, developed by Samsung, for use with mobile smartphone devices. Each TecTile is a low-cost self-adhesive sticker with an embedded NFC Tag. They are programmed before use, which can be done simply by the user, using a downloadable Android app. When an NFC-capable phone is placed or 'tapped' on a Tag, the programmed action is undertaken. This could cause a website to be displayed, the phone switched to silent mode, or many other possible actions. NFC Tags are an application of RFID technology. Unlike most RFID, which makes an effort to give a long reading range, NFC deliberately limits this range to only a few inches or almost touching the phone to the Tag. Geotagging, or GeoTagging, is the process of adding geographical identification metadata to various media such as a geotagged photograph or video, websites, SMS messages, QR Codes or RSS feeds and is a form of geospatial metadata.
