Adrian Sampson
Adrian David Sampson (born October 7, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers, and in the KBO League for the Lotte Giants. High school and college Sampson attended Skyline High School (Washington), Skyline High School in Sammamish, Washington. In July 2009, Sampson had Tommy John surgery, which caused him to miss his senior season. After not receiving any college baseball scholarships, Sampson attended Bellevue College. After going 4–2 with a 2.36 earned run average (ERA), Sampson was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 16th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. Doug Sampson
Douglas William Sampson (born 30 June 1957) is a British musician. He was the drummer for Iron Maiden from 1978 to 1979. Biography Prior to joining Iron Maiden, Sampson was a member of one of Steve Harris' previous groups, Smiler, along with Dennis Wilcock, Mick Clee (born 1949) and Tony Clee (b. 1949) in 1975, after which he was asked to join Iron Maiden at their inception in the same year. He declined to join at the time as he was "a bit fed up with the whole rock band thing" because he was "completely skint," but accepted a further invitation from Steve Harris at Dennis Willcock's last gig to replace Barry Purkis in 1978 after he had taken up drumming again in a Southern Rock group called Janski. Following a year of rehearsing the band began playing small pubs with the band, during which they gained a large following, a highlight being a gig at London's famous Marquee club. Jum Sampson
James H. "Jum" Sampson (born c. 1876) was a New Zealand-born rugby union player who represented Australia. Sampson, who was thought to have possibly come from Waihi, played as a number 8. He may have started his career playing in the Waikato between 1893 and 1895. After returning to where he was believed to have originated from, he spent one season in the Ohinemuri area the next year. During 1897 he joined the Parnell club in Auckland where he made the provincial side the following year. He was understood to have moved to Sydney in 1899 where he joined the Glebe (now known as Drummoyne) club. Sampson claimed 1 international rugby cap for Australia. Jamal Sampson
Jamal Wesley Sampson (born May 15, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player. A power forward / center, Sampson is the cousin of the 1983 NBA draft's number one overall pick Ralph Sampson. He attended the University of California, Berkeley where he played only one season before being selected by the Utah Jazz in the second round (47th overall) of the 2002 NBA draft. He was then traded along with Ryan Humphrey to the Orlando Magic for Curtis Borchardt. The Magic then traded Sampson to the Milwaukee Bucks for Rashard Griffith. After barely playing with the Bucks, Sampson was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers, appearing in only 10 games. He was later selected by the Charlotte Bobcats in the expansion draft in 2004, and signed as a free agent with the Sacramento Kings in 2005–06. Gordon Francis Sampson (born July 30, 1971) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and producer from Big Pond, Nova Scotia. Beginning his career as a performer on his hometown island of Cape Breton, both in bands and on his own, Sampson has gone on to achieve international success as a songwriter in Nashville. Godfrey Sampson
Godfrey Sampson (1 June 1902 - 21 June 1949) was an English composer and organist, best remembered for his church and choral music. Sampson was born in Gloucester, the son of a clergyman, and attended Westminster School. From 1920 he studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music under Benjamin Dale, where he was Goring Thomas scholar in 1924, and where he also won a Mendelssohn Scholarship in 1927. In 1932 he became a professor of composition there. While still a student Sampson composed a Cello Sonata that was performed by Douglas Cameron and Harry Isaacs at Grotrian Hall, Wigmore Street in 1926. This was followed by the Symphony in D, which was premiered at the Royal Academy in 1927 and repeated at the Henry Wood Proms in 1928, conducted by the composer. George William Sampson (born 29 June 1993) is an English street dancer, television presenter, singer, and actor. He won the second series of ''Britain's Got Talent'' on 31 May 2008 at the age of 14. He is an official ambassador of the United Dance Organisation.
