Ashley Sammons
Ashley George Sammons (born 10 November 1991) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Evesham United. Sammons began his career with Birmingham City, for whom he made only one appearance, in the League Cup. He moved into non-league football with Hereford United, Worcester City, Redditch United (three spells), Corby Town and Hednesford Town before joining National League club Solihull Moors in 2017. He then joined Redditch for a fourth time, initially on a dual registration, in November 2017, and left Moors in January 2018. He represented his country at under-17 level. Club career Sammons joined Birmingham City's youth academy after being spotted playing for his local under-10s team. Richard Sammons (born May 18, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio) is an architect, architectural theorist, visiting professor, and chief designer of Fairfax & Sammons Architects with offices in New York City, New York and Palm Beach, Florida. The firm has an international practice specializing in classical and traditional architecture, interior design and urban planning. Sammons was instrumental in the reemergence of classical design as a major movement in America through his designs as well as his work as an instructor at the Prince of Wales Institute in Britain in 1992-3 and as a founding member of the Institute of Classical Architecture in 1991. From 1996 to 2004, the Fairfax & Sammons office also served as the headquarters for the noted American architecture critic Henry Hope Reed Jr. (1915) and Classical America, the organization he founded in 1968. Albert Sammons
Albert Edward Sammons CBE (23 February 188624 August 1957) was an English violinist, composer and later violin teacher. Almost self-taught on the violin, he had a wide repertoire as both chamber musician and soloist, although his reputation rests mainly on his association with British composers, especially Elgar. He made a number of recordings over 40 years, many of which have been re-issued on CD. Life Albert Sammons was born in Fulham, the second eldest of four children. His father was a shoemaker and good amateur violinist. Sammons started to receive some lessons from his father around the age of seven. Apart from these lessons, he was virtually self-taught. His first professional engagement was in the band at the Earls Court Exhibition in 1898; the conductor was so impressed by the 12-year-old that he made him leader. Bryan Todd Sammons (born April 27, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2024. Career Early career Sammons attended John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Western Carolina University, where he played college baseball for the Western Carolina Catamounts. In 2016, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Minnesota Twins selected him in the eighth round of the 2017 MLB draft. Sampson Sammons
Colonel Sampson Sammons (December 24, 1722October 17, 1796) was an American officer in the American Revolutionary War. He is notable for being the target of the first shot fired by the British in the American Revolution west of the Hudson River. Life Sammons, of Dutch extraction, was born in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York to Jacob Sampson and Catalyntje Bensen. He moved to Ulster County in 1769, and then to Tryon County. In 1772 he was a Deacon of the First Reformed Church of Caughnawaga in Fonda, New York. He married Rachel Schoonmaker (1726-1822), who was a descendant of Hendrick Jochemson Schoonmaker, a native of Hamburg, Germany. They had three sons and seven daughters. Thomas Sammons (politician)
Thomas Sammons (October 1, 1762 – November 20, 1838) was a United States representative from New York. The son of Sampson Sammons and Rachel Schoomaker, Sammons was born in Ulster County. He attended the rural schools, served as an officer in the Revolutionary War, and engaged in agricultural pursuits. He was a delegate to the New York State Constitutional Convention of 1801, and served as lieutenant, captain, and major in the State militia. Sammons was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the 8th and 9th United States Congresses, holding office from March 4, 1803, to March 3, 1807. He was elected as a Federalist to the 11th, and as a Democratic-Republican to the 12th United States Congress, holding office from March 4, 1809, to March 3, 1813. Afterwards he resumed his agricultural pursuits and died on the Sammons homestead in Montgomery County (near Johnstown). Interment was on the homestead in the Simeon Sammons Cemetery. Clint Sammons
Clint Joseph Sammons (born May 15, 1983) is an American former Major League Baseball catcher who played for the Atlanta Braves from 2007 to 2009. Amateur career A native of Lilburn, Georgia, Sammons attended Parkview High School, and was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 43rd round of the 2001 MLB Draft. He did not sign with them however, and instead played college baseball at the University of Georgia, where he was starting catcher. In 2003, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League and was named a league all-star.
