Samir Mouqbel
Samir Mouqbel ( ar, سمير مقبل) (born 1939) is a Lebanese politician. He was the deputy prime minister and defense minister of Lebanon. Early life and education Mouqbel was born in 1939. He graduated from the American University of Beirut with a degree in civil engineering. Career Mouqbel is a Greek Orthodox Christian Independent, and was Lebanon's first state minister responsible for environment from 1992 to 1995 in the first cabinet of Rafic Hariri. He was appointed deputy to the prime minister Najib Mikati on 13 June 2011. He was reappointed deputy prime minister in the cabinet led by Tammam Salam in February 2013. Lebanese Government Of April 2013
The formation of a new government led by Tammam Salam followed two weeks of negotiations after the resignation of Najib Mikati's government. Salam's candidacy was backed by the March 14 Alliance, the Progressive Socialist Party, Najib Mikati and the Amal Movement. The government would be the sixth one designated to oversee elections since Lebanon's independence in 1943 when the 2014 general election takes place. A national unity government was announced on 15 February 2014. Despite his nomination by 124 of 128 MPs, Salam then failed to form a consensus government amidst political demands. Rafic Hariri
Rafic Bahaa El Deen Al Hariri ( ar, رفيق بهاء الدين الحريري; 1 November 1944 – 14 February 2005) was a Lebanese business tycoon and politician who served as the Prime Minister of Lebanon from 1992 to 1998 and again from 2000 until his resignation on . Hariri headed five cabinets during his tenure. He was widely credited for his role in constructing the Taif Agreement that ended the 15-year Lebanese Civil War. He also played a huge role in reconstructing the Lebanese capital, Beirut. He was the first post-civil war prime minister and the most influential and wealthiest Lebanese politician until his assassination. Hariri was assassinated on 14 February 2005 by a suicide truck bomb in Beirut. First Cabinet Of Rafic Hariri
The first cabinet of Rafic Hariri was the 61st government and one of the post-civil war governments of Lebanon. It was inaugurated on 31 October 1992 replacing the cabinet led by Rachid Solh. Hariri's first cabinet lasted until 25 May 1995 and was succeeded by his second cabinet which would exist only until November 1996. The head of the state was president Elias Hrawi during the term of Hariri's first cabinet. Ministries and support A number of new ministries was introduced through the establishment of the cabinet, including the state ministries for displaced, municipal affairs and ministry of public works. These institutions later had legal basis when the related laws were approved by the parliament.
