Samarra Sport Club ( ar, نادي سامراء الرياضي) is an Iraqi football club based in Samarra. It was founded in 1973, that plays in Iraq Division One. History In the Iraqi Premier League Samarra played in the Iraqi Premier League for 22 consecutive seasons, starting from the 1989–90 season, where they played for the first time, until the 2010–11 season, when they relegated to the Iraq Division One. 2020–21 Season After qualifying for the preliminary round, Samarra in the 2020–21 Iraq Division One played 13 matches, winning 8, drawing 3, losing 2 and gaining 27 points to occupy second place behind the leaders Al-Sinaa in Group 2, and qualified for the third place match. In the match to determine the third place, Samarra played against Afak, the second team in Group 1, and defeated them 1–0 to occupy the third place, and qualified for the play-off match, which qualifies for the Iraqi Premier League. Afak FC
Afak Sports Club ( ar, نادي عفك), is an Iraqi football club based in Afak, Al-Qādisiyyah. The team competes in the Iraq Division One. History Afak Club was established in 1991 by some athletes in Al Diwaniyah Governorate, and after reaching the Iraq Division One, it participated seven times in the final rounds of qualifying for the Premier League, but did not qualify. In the 2020–21 season, the team managed to reach the third-place match after playing 13 matches without losing, but they lost in the match to determine the third place against Samarra 1-0, from a penalty kick, and for the eighth time, they were close to qualifying, without qualifying to play in the Premier League. Samer Saeed Mujbel Al Mamoori ( ar, سامر سعيد مجبل) (born 1 December 1987 in Iraq) is a former Iraqi midfielder. He currently manages Al-Diwaniya in the Iraqi Premier League. Noor Sabri Abbas Hasan Al-Baidawi ( ar, نور صبري عباس حسن البيداوي), simply known as Noor Sabri (born 6 June 1984 in Baghdad, Iraq) is an Iraqi professional goalkeeper. 2020–21 Iraq Division One
The 2020–21 Iraq Division One was the 47th season of the Iraq Division One, the second tier of the Iraqi football league system since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history due to several factors, most recently in this season when the number of clubs increased from 12 to 28 in total. The top team from each group is directly promoted to the Premier League, while a third club can be promoted through play-offs, on the other hand, two clubs from each group are directly relegated to the Division Two.
