Sam Marata
Samuel Joseph Marata (born June 28, 1991) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for the Pilipinas MX3 Kings of the ASEAN Basketball League. He was selected 25th overall in the 2013 PBA draft by the Petron Blaze Boosters. College / amateur career Marata initially attended at Reedley International School, but later on, he transferred to University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS), where he became a standout and was awarded as the UAAP Season 70 Juniors MVP. After his high school career ended, he was recruited by DLSU but had to sit out for a year owing to UAAP's residency rules for student-athlete transferring from one UAAP member school to another. After serving his one-year residency, he made the Green Archers' line up for UAAP Season 72. He had his most fruitful outing as a Green Archer during his sophomore year, he averaged 7.3 points, 1.4 assists, and 25% shooting percentage from the three-point area in 16 minutes of play, while es ... UAAP Season 76
UAAP Season 76 is the 2013–2014 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. It was hosted by Adamson University with Fr. Maximino D. Rendon, C.M. as president. There were eight universities that competed in fifteen sports with poomsae, a form in the sport of taekwondo now recognized as a regular sport and included in the general championship tally. Some of the sporting events were aired live or on a delayed telecast by ABS-CBN Channel 2 and Studio 23. All the men's basketball games and the women's volleyball games were aired live by ABS-CBN Sports, the former for the fourteenth consecutive year and the latter since Season 69. The 2015–16 ASEAN Basketball League season was the sixth season of competition of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL). The regular season started on 27 October 2015 and ended on 21 February 2016. Two Indonesian teams, the Indonesia Warriors and Laskar Dreya South Sumatra did not return to the league. Pilipinas MX3 Kings were a Filipino basketball team that played in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL). The team only played one season in the ABL, mainly because of financial difficulties after Manny Pacquiao pulled out his financial support from the team, and internal disputes within the team. History The team was originally known as Mindanao Aguilas. After Manny Pacquiao became one of the team's owners, the name was changed to Pacquiao Powervit Pilipinas Aguilas. In October 2015, the Pilipinas Legends Group became a co-owner of the team and took over the team's management. The following month, the team was acquired by SportsLegends Managers, Inc. and renamed Pilipinas MX3 Kings, through a sponsorship arrangement with DMI Medical Supply Co., Inc.
