Ramsay is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after Alexander Ramsay, who was general manager of the South Australian Housing Trust for 25 years. It is a 24.7 km² suburban electorate north of Adelaide—based on the angle between Main North Road and the Port Wakefield Road, Ramsay covers the outer northern Adelaide suburbs of Paralowie, Salisbury, Salisbury Downs and Salisbury Plain, as well as part of Salisbury North. Parafield Gardens is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The suburb is largely residential, with a pocket of industrial land in the southwest corner. There are two small shopping centres in the area, one on Salisbury Highway, and another on Sheperdson Road. History Kaurna people occupied the land now called Parafield Gardens prior to European settlement. An Aboriginal heritage site within the Greenfield Industrial Estate indicates that Aboriginal settlement may have existed in the area for thousands of years. Parafield Gardens was originally a subdivision of section 2258 of the Hundred of Yatala enclosing land south of the Little Para River and Kings Road and northeast of today's Salisbury Highway. Parafield is a non-residential suburb of Adelaide approximately to north of the CBD. The suburb is essentially contiguous with Parafield Airport. There are airport related businesses in the terminal and hangar area of the airport, and a general commercial area in the corner of Kings and Main North Roads. It is bordered by Main North Road to the east, Kings Road to the north and the Gawler railway line to the west, where it is served by Parafield station. McIntyre Road (and its northern sections as Kings Road and Bolivar Road) is an arterial road crossing through northern and northeastern suburbs of Adelaide in South Australia. Little Para River
The Little Para River is a seasonal creek running across the Adelaide Plains in the Australian state of South Australia, whose catchment fills reservoirs that supply some of the water needs of Adelaide’s northern suburbs. Course and features It runs from its source near Lower Hermitage in the Mount Lofty Ranges, flows north westerly to the Little Para Reservoir and then westerly to the Barker Inlet via Swan Creek and into Gulf St Vincent at Globe Derby Park .
