Salim Toama
Salim Tuama ( ar, سليم طعمه, he, סלים טועמה; born August 9, 1979) is an Arab-Israeli footballer who plays as a midfielder for Maccabi Sha'arayim. His former clubs include Hapoel Tel Aviv, Standard Liège, Maccabi Petah Tikva, Kayserispor, Larissa, Hapoel Bnei Lod and the youth club Gadna Tel Aviv Yehuda. An Arab citizen of Israel, he has 13 caps for the Israel national team. Career Tuama has lived his life in the city of Lod, but began his career using the facilities of the Gadna club due to the poor conditions of Lod's fields and football schools. Tuama became the hottest prospect in Israeli football in the 1998–99 season when he, along with Kfir Udi, Omri Afek, and Pini Balili, all of whom had been chosen by Israeli manager Dror Kashtan, led Hapoel to their first State Cup title since 1983, followed by a double in the next season 1999–2000. Midfielder
A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. As central midfielders often go across boundaries, with mobility and passing ability, they are often referred to as deep-lying midfielders, play-makers, box-to-box midfielders, or holding midfielders. There are also attacking midfielders with limited defensive assignments. The size of midfield units on a team and their assigned roles depend on what formation is used; the unit of these players on the pitch is commonly referred to as the midfield. Omri Afek
Omri Afek ( he, עמרי אפק; born 31 March 1979) is a retired Israeli footballer who last played for Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv. Afek was mainly a midfielder that also operated as a defender. Early life Afek was born in Kiryat Ono, Israel, to a Jewish family. Football career During his professional career, Afek played for Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Jaffa (loan), Beitar Jerusalem, Maccabi Haifa and Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv. He also had a two-year abroad spell at Racing de Santander; in 2003–04 La Liga, he signed alongside compatriot Dudu Aouate, both rejoining Yossi Benayoun - the club also sold that very summer a fourth Israeli, Ilan Bakhar.
